Strange Town Youth Board

Strange Town created a brand new Youth Board to better represent the voices and opinions of their young membership.

Strange Town is delighted to announce the creation of our first ever Youth Board. Made up entirely of Youth Theatre and Young Company members between the ages of 11-25, the Youth Board runs in parallel to our adult board and helps guide the future direction of Strange Town.

The Youth Board elect their own Chair and Secretary (as well as any other roles) on a rotating basis and had two meetings in September and December 2022. Both were great successes, with the young people providing valuable input and feedback that has already started to affect and reshape the way we move forward as a youth theatre. We intend to continue organising further meetings despite the end of the funding.

The Strange Town Youth Board is part of the National Youth Arts Advisory Group programme of work, supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland. The National Youth Arts Advisory Group supports children and young people to be heard, to lead and take action on the issues that are important to them.
