The Bold Collective - ART Picnic: A three day mental health arts festival for young people aged 14-25 in Glasgow!

In October The Bold Collective delivered Art Picnic: A three day festival at Civic House. Art Picnic was for young people who live, work or study in Glasgow aged 14 to 25 years of age. The festival was produced by our committee of young people who also shared some of their artistic skills at the festival. The committee curated the programme along with their peers from young groups at Articulate and Sanctuary Queer Arts.

Artists from all over the city attended and led workshops including Theatre, SFX Make-up, Mask Making, Mindfulness Collage, and much more. A special feature was being a Pathways into the Creative Industries Workshop from the Fair Access team at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

As well as structured workshops, we had a crafting drop-in space for those who preferred a relaxed environment on their own or with friends and work on some art. There was also a quiet zone throughout the festival for anyone that needed a break in a safe and relaxed space.

The Bold Collective strives to make our events and workshops as accessible as we can. We were delighted to welcome members of the communities with a range of access needs and diverse backgrounds and skills. We had a range of professionally delivered workshops, including many sessions led by members of the Bold Collective and Articulate. It was mindful, accessible, fun, and NO BAD VIBES!
